Google My Business aides unlawful and potentially illegal actions, and seemingly doesn’t care and allows unsafe and potentially businesses to remain listed on their platform. As the COVID-19 pandemic fear flows through many communities, some believe it to be a serious problem and some see numbers are skewed and being manipulated for the benefit of the elite.

Extremely dense populations like Los Angeles are seeing increased numbers of “cases” due to the increased number of tests being given.

Regardless, guidelines must be followed until things are legally changed otherwise. Despite numerous reports that businesses are unsafely operating from small cramped apartment buildings, Google My Business and it’s quality assurance team, refuse to actually remove businesses that are being run from private homes and apartments.

Business owners take pride in their businesses but it is also very important that they SAFELY and LEGALLY operate. As Hollywood grips with industry changes, mom and pop “Self Tape” establishments are seemingly not adhering to COVID-19 guidelines and standard issued by the local governments in Los Angeles County.

Reputable and responsible business owners take the time to ensure their clients are safe and they ensure that they are indeed operating out of a safe and secure workspace. Not adhering to these guidelines can conjure a “super spreader” situation.

Google itself has an option to report and remove these private residences however, online communities have been discussing for years, how Google My Business allows these unsafe and sometimes unlawful/illegal businesses to operate.

Home based businesses that physically service customers in their homes, bring with them a high amount of new people and foot traffic, and with that safely decreases for the entire neighbor and community.

  • Obtain a general business license. Regardless of the type of home-based business, most cities and counties will require new businesses to obtain some form of general business license.
